“The key role of civil society in TB response is a fundamental idea of TBEC work, which, I believe, will lead to success and victory over the disease. As before, we will consistently and systematically support activists, communities and civil society organizations in their advocacy work in EECA countries, while ensuring regional-level advocacy for people-centered approaches, budget financing, and access to new effective TB treatment schemes. Consolidating our efforts in 34 countries of the region, we plan to further expand the activities of the organization, strengthening the capacity of coalition members and interaction with key partners”, – said Yuliia Kalancha, taking over the duties of TBEC Director.
We would like to remind you that in February 2019, Yuliia joined the TBEC team as Policy and Advocacy Manager. Her work was aimed at supporting civil society and TB- affected communities in their advocacy efforts to move towards people-centered care.
Ms. Kalancha is a specialist in European Union law and has extensive experience in volunteering. Since 2011, she has been working in public health and involved in processes related to expanding access to treatment at the national, regional, and international levels. Prior to joining TBEC, Yuliia worked at the Representative Office of the AIDS Healthcare Foundation in Ukraine (AHF Ukraine) as an Advocacy / Marketing Coordinator of the “Healthcarers” project, and also dealt with procurement issues at the All-Ukrainian Network of PLHIV charitable organization and at the Public Health Center of the Ministry of Health of Ukraine.
We wish Yuliia success in her new position and believe in our common defeat of TB!
