The first online meeting of the National Dialogue in the Republic of Armenia was held on October 6, 2020. The Dialog is aimed at strengthening partnership and interaction between civil society and TB communities with the National Tuberculosis Control Program to ensure the provision of integrated people-centered TB services.
During the meeting, facilitated by Yuliya Chorna, the participants analyzed the possibilities to enhance the participation of civil society organizations and TB communities for supporting the National TB Program (NTP) and the National Strategic Plan for TB (NSP-TB). Also, participants started to develop a draft of the Action Plan for Enhancing Civil Society Participation in Support of NTP / NSP-TB and agreed on the key requests and expected results of the National Dialogue organized by TB Europe Coalition under the TB REP 2.0 project.
Following the meeting, participants from civil society “Positive People Armenian Network” NGO, New Generation, Humanitarian NGO, Tuberculosis and Me, Medicine du monde (Doctors of the World), International Committee of the Red Cross, Real World, Real People. NGO agreed to finalize the Action Plan for Expanding CSO Activities in Support of NTP / NSP-TB in order to present it for discussion at the second National Dialogue Meeting with all stakeholders, scheduled for October 27, 2020.
The meeting was also attended by representatives of the National Center for Pulmonology and other units of the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Armenia, WHO Country Office in Armenia, Centrul PAS (Moldova) and others.
We thank our Armenian colleagues that despite the difficult situation in the country, the fight against tuberculosis remains among the priorities and the National Dialogue has begun!
