The first Meeting on Social Partnership Building for TB Response was held in the Republic of Tajikistan between civil society, communities of people affected by tuberculosis and the National Tuberculosis Program to ensure the provision of quality, people-centered TB services.

On October 23, 2020, during an online meeting with civil society organizations (CSOs) and TB-affected communities the following issues were addressed:

  • Analysis of the possibilities for increasing CSO / community participation in support of the National TB Program (NTP) and the National TB Strategic Plan (NSP-TB).
  • Finalization of the SWOT analysis and discussion of possible activities for inclusion in the TB Stakeholders Coordination Road map for coordinating the efforts of stakeholders in the field of TB to increase CSOs engagement in the implementation of NTP/NSP-TB
  • Approval on the key requests and expected outcomes of the Meeting on Social Partnership Building for TB Response

As a result of the meeting, civil society representatives from the “Stop TB Partnership. Tajikistan”, Red Crescent Society in Tajikistan,“Zamon va Jomea”,“Chashmai hayot”,“Safi”,“Afif”,“Zuhal”,“Volunteer”,“Equal Opportunities”,“Spin Plus” agreed to develop Road map for coordinating the efforts of stakeholders in the field of TB to increase CSOs engagement in the implementation of  NTP/NSP-TB for discussion at the TB stakeholder session at the Meeting on Social Partnership Building for TB Response. Participants will also develop a Civil Society Action Plan to support the implementation of the TB Stakeholders Coordination Roadmap. The meeting, organized by the TB Europe Coalition in the framework of the TB-REP 2.0 project, was also attended by representatives of international and state organizations, in particular, the Republican Center for the Protection of Population from TB, the Global Fund to Fight AIDS, Tuberculosis and Malaria, the WHO Country Office in Tajikistan, Center for Health Policies and Studies (PAS Center, Moldova), UNDP in Tajikistan, Abt Associates, USAID Eliminating Tuberculosis in Central Asia project and others.
