Republican level meeting with broad stakeholders’ participation on Building Social Partnership for TB Response in the Republic of Tajikistan was held on December 18, 2020. The TB-REP 2.0 event, organized by TBEC, aims to strengthen partnerships between civil society, communities of people affected by TB and the National TB Program to ensure the delivery of quality, people-centered TB services.
Within the framework of the meeting, representatives of the Parliament of the Republic of Tajikistan, the Ministry of Health and Social Protection of the Population of the Republic of Tajikistan, the State Institution ” Republican Center of Protection of Population from TB”, “STOP TB Partnership. Tajikistan ”and other non-governmental organizations, WHO Regional and Country Offices for Europe, Center for Health Policy and Research (PAS Center), USAID Eliminating TB in Central Asia Project Activity / Abt Associates and other international partners discussed the possible role of civil society organizations in realizing national TB targets with the participation of all stakeholders. The ways of implementation of multisectoral accountability system for TB (MAF-TB) to support the national TB strategic plan was discussed within the meeting as well.
As a result of the event, the participants agreed to coordinate a broad online discussion of the Strategy for the involvement of civil society organizations and communities affected by TB in achieving national goals in the field of TB prevention and care in Tajikistan and finalizing it in accordance with the recommendations of partners to submit to the CCM, as well as develop a roadmap for 2021-2023 with direct actions aimed at increasing the involvement of civil society in TB response.
