The results of a Baseline assessment of the situation in line with Annex 2 of the MAF-TB Checklist (multisectoral accountability framework for TB), implemented in Kyrgyzstan this year in April –  May with the technical assistance of the TB Europe Coalition and in partnership with the WHO Regional Office for Europe were presented on July 13, 2022, at the National Center of Phthisiology (NCPh) of the Republic of Kyrgyzstan.

The contribution of the civil society and TB community to the implementation of the four MAF-TB components for National End TB response in Kyrgyzstan was analyzed in the framework of the assessment.

As it was noted by the participants of the meeting the presented report fully reflected the current situation with CSO’s involvement in multi-sectoral accountability for TB in the country.  After document’s approval it was agreed by the representatives of the NCPh and other parties involved to hold a quarterly meeting between NCPh and CSOs, as well as donor and international organizations working in the field of TB.

Let us remind that the aim of the MAF-TB baseline assessment, which was already conducted last year in Belarus, Kazakhstan, Moldova, Tajikistan, and Ukraine, is to identify strengths and possible gaps in multisectoral cooperation within the framework of activities aimed at ending tuberculosis, as well as possible ways of improvement of mechanisms and practices of multisectoral cooperation and accountability to accelerate progress in the elimination of tuberculosis.
