Initiated by the ‘Stop TB Partnership, Tajikistan’, beloved pop singer and Stop TB Ambassador Mrs Shabnami Surayo held a charity concert at the ‘Ahorun’ amphitheater in Dushanbe city on 24th August.

The concert was attended by representatives of the Executive Body of the State Authority of Dushanbe city; MPs from the National TB Caucus, Ministry of Health and Social Protection of the Population of the Republic of Tajikistan (SPPT), and Ministry of Culture of the Republic of Tajikistan; Civil Society Organisations; TB survivors; ‘Stop TB Partnership, Tajikistan’s “Our champions: NO TB!” members, including Olympic champions, actors, renowned journalists, and comedians; local and international Mass Media and over 1400 members of the public.

The concert started with a moment of silence to remember those who have died from tuberculosis.

The show-concert was inaugurated by Dr Asliddin Rajabzoda, Director of the Republican Center of Protection of Population from TB under the Ministry of Health and SPPT and Mrs Mavluda Boboshozoda, Representative of the Ministry of Culture of the Republic of Tajikistan.

During the event Shabnami invited people for commitment and benevolence towards both the issue of TB and people with TB.

The concert also included other celebrities, a music director, and a group of dancers from neighboring Uzbekistan. The famous dancing group ‘Tavois’ presented a gorgeous dance and their participation symbolized the friendship between Tajikistan and Uzbekistan.Uzbek performers commuted from Tashkent to Dushanbe carrying TB messages as part of an awareness-raising campaign.

The famous Tajik singer Surayo Kosimova, Tajik pop singer Farzona Khurshed, Shabnami Sobiri and Fariduni Khurshed also joined the event, inspiring the audience with their performances and praised Shabnami Surayo’s initiative to support efforts in ending TB in Tajikistan.

Moderated by famous hosts, the venue was decorated with key TB messages and slogans.
