TBEC DirectorSince its inception in 2009, the TB Europe Coalition has aspired to unite civil society working on TB across the region to become more powerful advocates at regional, national and local level. Supporting meaningful involvement of civil society in health policies and people-centered services in the WHO European region has been the core of our work in the past decade. The network has been successfully growing to 200 members in a rather informal way over the years to focus on its mission and ensure that the voices of people affected by TB impact political decisions at all levels.

Since 2017, TBEC has laid out a plan to ensure the sustainability of its work. It registered as a legal entity in the Netherlands, and has successfully been granted resources to continue to work towards its mission. In April 2018, it elected a Board of 13 members, working on tuberculosis across the region. Thanks to a grant from the Global Fund TBEC is very pleased to announce that, after a competitive selection process, Yuliya Chorna has been appointed TBEC Director and will oversee the strategic and programmatic activities of the TB Europe Coalition as of 15 September 2018.

We are very confident that Yuliya’s passion, knowledge and motivation will be key to the success and sustainability of the TB Europe Coalition.
